Mother Russia, the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, and our old friends, the American Blacks, their preachers, and their people. (See NYT Link — no firewall — at Bottom).
A nursery rhyme of color for ‘friends,’ — not for the making of a God, nor a religion:
“Make new friends, but keep the old — some are silver and some are gold.”
(see also this week’s Maftir, Exodus 20:20:
“do not make a god of silver or gold” — or for that matter, do not make a god out of “your” true color.
Isaiah 6:11 The Prophet (haftara) Speaks this week:
וָאֹמַ֕ר עַד־מָתַ֖י אֲדֹנָ֑י וַיֹּ֡אמֶר עַ֣ד אֲשֶׁר֩ אִם־שָׁא֨וּ עָרִ֜ים מֵאֵ֣ין יוֹשֵׁ֗ב וּבָתִּים֙ מֵאֵ֣ין אָדָ֔ם וְהָאֲדָמָ֖ה תִּשָּׁאֶ֥ה שְׁמָמָֽה׃
I asked, “How long, O Lord?”
And [God] replied:
“Till towns lie waste without inhabitants
And houses without people,
And the ground lies waste and desolate—
וְרִחַ֥ק יְהֹוָ֖ה אֶת־הָאָדָ֑ם וְרַבָּ֥ה הָעֲזוּבָ֖ה בְּקֶ֥רֶב הָאָֽרֶץ׃
For GOD will banish the population—
And deserted sites are many
in the midst of the land.

The continued presence of the Protocols of the Elders of Zion:
Russia, The Protocols of the Elders of Zion and American Blacks (both their Preachers and their people):
First, Russia: both historically and now
- Perhaps this could be filed under the heading of something we already knew all too well, nevertheless, it remains good to have in hand. (Almost as if there is nothing left for us to read about Russia and the Jewish people). That being said, perhaps one could see the movie Fiddler on the Roof, or the Broadway play (in Yiddish, no less), or if you are so inclined, get ahold of a history of the Jewish people while living in Eastern Europe, that being said, please make sure that it covers, at the very least, approximately 1,000 years of Russian and Eastern European Jewish History. - 2. Please do not hesitate to have a look at these materials provided by the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, under the heading of: The Protocols of the Elders of Zion (Link) — Just in case one were to wonder how such an immediate reaction to Israel’s military response to the so-called palestinian October 6th terror was able to be so quickly unleashed on college campuses across the nation (from the College Administrations to the DEI offices, accompanied by Affirmative Action purpose-driven policies along with University Department Chairs funded by Qatar and “Protocol friendly” professors, departments, administrators and more).
- A brief snippet rom the Dept of State as to where we can find the ‘Protocols’ today. From (of all places) the US Department of State’s “Report on Global Anti-Semitism” (2004). “The clear purpose of the [Protocols is] to incite hatred of Jews and of Israel.” Many school textbooks throughout the Arab and Islamic world teach the Protocols as fact. Countless political speeches, editorials, and even children’s cartoons are derived from the Protocols. In 2002, Egypt’s government-sponsored television aired a (Palestinian-produced) miniseries based on the Protocols, an event condemned by the US State Department. The Palestinian organization Hamas uses the Protocols to justify its terrorism against Israeli civilians.
- File under: American Blacks: friends and allies
- From whence does this come?
- Why is this relationship different from all other relationships?
- Is it the persistence of the Protocols of the Elders of Zion?
- Black Lives Matter / Do Jewish Lives Matter, too? (#metoo / #mejew)
From our historic allies in the African American Church Community — Is this an intersectionality of one people of color responding to the cries of another — is it because the Jews are now the oppressors against a people of color? Is it a moral issue? Wondering where everyone was when countless peoples were actually being oppressed (Syrians, Ukrainians, Cambodians, Chinese Ouigers, just to name a few — there are myriads of examples) — here and across the globe. If history (and its friend, memory) has a bearing, it was the Jews who marched with people(s) of color, along with their preachers.
We still have the pictures, albeit fading — along with the memories. Here’s where we are at today.
